It is layer upon layer of post-consumer paper glued together to make a super-dense, strong cardboard sleeve or core.
These cardboard cores and tubes come in two diameters: 3.5" I.D. and 9" I.D. They vary in length between 10' up to almost 17'.
No, this raw cardboard material is not safe to leave out in the elements. However, many people have coated the cardboard tubes with a polyurethane sealant and this helps them withstand the natural environment better.
These reclaimed cardboard tubes are in great condition since they were only used once for transporting vinyl material. They may show some scuffs or marks from the printing machine & transport. Some of the tubes have a line of tacky adhesive to help stick the beginning of the material to the roll. We inspect and check all the tubes for structural integrity and any major issues. All reclaimed materials are sold "As Is" with no express or implied warranty. Please read product descriptions before purchase as all sales are final.
We are located in Salt Lake City, Utah, at 36 West Fayette Ave, Unit 1 (970 South, between Main and West Temple). Please visit us Mondays through Fridays from 9am to 6pm.
We prefer cash but also accept debit/check cards, and all major credit cards. Please call about discounts on volume purchases and to ensure inventory. Local sales tax will be applied.
Your creativity is the only limit! Here are some suggestions: ship fragile items inside like posters, golf clubs or fly fishing rods; cut them short and stack to make an organizer's dream wall; use for small structural projects like furniture, buildings, and crafts; put around sensitive and delicate items as a bumper or protector; use as rollers for heavy items; cover a wall with them for a distinctive 3-D look; and more!
