OAK WHISKEY BARRELS FROM VARIOUS DISTILLERIES
Note: Not all variants are listed in the drop-down menu. Please ask about other options you may not see listed. Thank you.
Oak barrels are traditionally used to age wine or distilled spirits, carry grain & feed, transport foolish souls over huge waterfalls and provide rudimentary nudity-abatement while in the poor house. But getting your hands on one doesn't require a Niagara-sized leap, nor does it require going broke.
Our barrels were used by a various distilleries to age whiskey and other fine spirits. Now drained of their liquid intoxicants, these oak barrels make excellent landscaping pots, could complement your rustic-themed decor, or provide source wood for the perfect craft project. But, please, let the professionals ride the waterfalls, and, for the love of Pete, just wear regular clothes!
All of these barrels spent several years aging rye bourbon and whiskey. Some received a second calling as aging vessels for high-point, small-batch, craft beer. Drained of their heavenly “spirits”, now they’re available for a third-life. We like to think of it as “three-use”.
Some are, although many of these barrels have been air-dried, and have shrunk a bit, breaking the seams where the wood slats (called "staves") come together. Some barrels can be rehydrated to hold liquids. We cannot guarantee water-tightness and all barrels are sold “As Is”. Call us today to discuss your needs and our current inventory.
They weigh between 90 and 120 pounds depending on how long they’ve been drying. They are made of 1" thick white oak, charred on the inside and held together by steel bands on the outside. They are 35” tall, 26” in diameter at mid-point, and 21” diameter at the top and bottom. They have a 53-gallon internal capacity.
No. All liquids have been drained out. They do have a wonderful aroma however, which makes them a great addition to your man-cave, BBQ smoker, or perhaps an enticing potpourri… how lovely!
Most have a small, painted label on the top from various distilleries. Please let us know if you're looking for a particular brand. For volume purchases, we cannot guarantee a particular “brand” or logo when you purchase.
Yes, we cut barrels into planters and have many on hand regularly. We can also do length-wise cut half barrels (called "cradle cut"), but at least 24-hours notice is needed to make these. We can also power wash them for $10, remove lids for $10 each, screw bands securely for $15, and stain the whole barrel for $35 (which includes power washing and screwing).
They have dozens of uses. Your creativity is the only limit! Here are some suggestions: planters or urban vegetable gardens, unique furniture (table, chairs, wine bottle holders, etc.), rainwater collection, bar top, liquor cabinet, use the slats to make home accessories, BBQ smoking wood/charcoal briquettes, cut longwise and make into a baby cradle, decorations for your “vintage” themed wedding, cut a hole in the top and turn into a dog kennel, wood flooring, or whatever your creativity can dream up. We also have individual staves, lids and bands available. Have a great repurpose idea for these oak whiskey barrels? Share it HERE.

BUY LOCAL – You’ll support a small Utah company, not an Amazonian-sized corporation.
BETTER VALUE – You’ll pay less than what you can get them for elsewhere, guaranteed!
MORE USES – Bought whole, they can be cut to the size you need, or transformed into some other creative function.
BACKGROUND – These barrels have unique stories and make great conversation starters. Besides, e-barrels are so 2010.
HELP THE ENVIRONMENT – This material would otherwise go to the landfill or wood chipper. Repurposing keeps our planet greener by eliminating landfill waste and the energy needed to make a new item with the same usefulness. Plus, they’re biodegradable (thanks Nature!)
We are always looking for new, unique, and different materials to reclaim and repurpose from industrial, manufacturing, and commercial businesses. Whether they are used, spent, expired, mistakes, obsolete, byproducts, excess, overstock, trash, factory seconds, blemished, scrap, returns, end of life, cancelled orders, or otherwise unwanted, contact us today to find out what landfill alternatives are available to you!
